VIVIAN NWEZE

Producer, NBC’s “Access Hollywood” | Speaker/ Live Event Host & Social Influencer | VivaciouslyVivian.com

Q: What is the most tangible piece of advice for someone looking to build a community within their “BOSS BABE” brand?

Vivian: Be authentic. You can’t copy what someone else has created because it won’t ring true to you. People can spot a phony a mile away and won’t be afraid to call you out. Figure out what qualities set you and your principals apart from others, and build your brand around that. Like-minded people will gravitate to you and that will build your community.

TWEETABLE PIECE OF ADVICE:

You are the only thing standing in the way of your own success. Get out of your head & get moving. Talent is subjective. Hustle isn’t.

SARAH BOYD

Founder, SIMPLY | simply-inc.com

Q:What is the most tangible piece of advice for someone looking to build a community within their “BOSS BABE” brand?

Sarah: I think a community is exactly that!  The most important thing is to provide your fans or community with a reason to work with you, shop from you, listen to you. Know your audience and give them what they want!

TWEETABLE PIECE OF ADVICE:

This is a quote from Sheryl Sandberg: ‘Trying to do it all and expecting that it can all be done exactly right is a recipe for disappointment. Perfection is the enemy’.

GWEN LANE

Multimedia Lifestyle Entrepreneur | theLAgirl.com

Q: What is the most tangible piece of advice you have for someone looking to build a community within their “BOSS BABE” brand?

Gwen: Be clear on your vision, write it down, and remind yourself of it when you need to. As an entrepreneur, especially if you work on your own, it’s tough to be motivated 100% of the time. There are many highs and many, many lows. And if you’re not clear on your vision and why you’re doing what you’re doing, it can be easy to procrastinate, go off-plan and even quit. The most successful entrepreneurs have built routines and rituals around this, whether it’s in the form of daily meditation, visualization, and/or journaling – it’s important to keep ourselves in what Tony Robbins calls a “peak state” where we have the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energy to achieve our goals and live our purpose. When we have this energy, this drive or motivation, we then have the capacity to do the work it takes to build a community. It takes a lot of time and effort to build anything worthwhile! To have the patience and the stamina, know why you’re building that community – who is it for? what will it do? why does it matter? If you’re clear on that, keep doing what you’re doing – everything takes time.

TWEETABLE PIECE OF ADVICE:

Know it in your mind, body, and soul that your vision, dream, or goal is already in motion and will spark success through action.

JUSTYNA KENDRA

Founder/CEO, WE Rule and FUNDVENTURES | we-rule.com

Q: What is the most tangible piece of advice you have for someone looking to build a community within their “BOSS BABE” brand?

Justyna: Best piece of advice I can give you I learned by growing my own community: Always be ready to give before you’re able to get anything from anyone. When building WE Rule (and now Fundventures), I never expected to have a global network of 500+ entrepreneurs in 30+ countries that would bring me collaborations with companies such as Rent the Runway, WE Work, The Passionistas, Tiffany&CO, Northwestern Mutual, multiple global government organizations, to name a few. All I wanted was to learn. Little did I know that all that learning would bring me the most amazing gift: strong partnerships with people who were able to see my journey, support my learnings, open up and grow with me.

Because I never expected anything from anyone, I was able to connect with people on a deeper level and create relationships that will last for years to come, hopefully while we all grow into powerful forces to be reckoned with!

NATALIE ELLIS

Serial Entrepreneur/CEO | thekonfidential.com

Q: What is the most tangible piece of advice you have for someone looking to build a community within their “BOSS BABE” brand?

Natalie: Firstly, you need to be different. I see a lot of brands popping up inspired by our #BOSSBABE movement, but many of them don’t differentiate themselves enough.

Next, if you’re trying to build a community, you must inspire people to believe in your vision and purpose. A successful community is made of individuals who will champion your brand without you having to ask them to. That’s exactly how we grew our community and we know that the girls within the Boss Babe community will stand behind us and help push our mission forward.

Care less about the number of people in your community and more about the experience they’re having. Gather feedback at every opportunity, always leave your door open, and champion people within your community.
Oh, and remember that collaboration beats competition. Partner with other brands who may have similar communities. Trust me, there is room for us all to win. By working together, you’re expanding your reach to your ideal demographic.

TWEETABLE PIECE OF ADVICE:

You are going to have to believe in yourself more than you’ve ever believed in anything. Stop dreaming about it, start working for it and remember to enjoy the process.
