The holiday season is in full swing, and whether you celebrate or not, your day to day is inevitably going to be affected. You might want to take a vacation until the New Year, but forward-thinking entrepreneurs can do no such thing. Since you’re always on your grind, here are 3 ways you can stay motivated during the holidays (while having a little fun, too!)
Plan Ahead
Ok, the tough stuff first: you need to be ready for 2019. You already are following and thriving with your business plan, but the end of the year is always a good time to reassess and figure out if your process is really working.
Are you reaching your yearly and monthly goals? Do you have an established routine that’s helping you daily? Are you happy with your startup? All of these are important questions, but they can get overwhelming to confront on the daily. This is why an end-of-the-year check-in is especially effective, especially because you’ll have all the data from 2018 to make an informed decision.
You’re in control of your entrepreneurial journey! Use the end of the year to focus and figure out how to make 2019 even better.
Connect With Your Community
A great way to stay motivated is to connect with your community during the holidays. All that self-reflection from the previous year means you’re thinking the people important to you.
Reach out to your business mentor and check in with them. Their insight is incredibly valuable; StartupNation says, “Finding a mentor is an investment in your business and your personal development. You will avoid common industry pitfalls, excel over your competition, and develop important connections.” Hopefully, you can pay it forward and mentor another budding entrepreneur soon.
The holidays are also a great time to get networking. With lots of industry events and parties, now is the time to make new, beneficial connections. Keep your eyes open for potential business partners, possible future mentors, and other entrepreneurs. Don’t be afraid to reach out! You can’t do it all on your own, and your community is ready to help you.
Appreciate Your Audience
Holidays are the perfect time to appreciate your audience. After all, customers are the ones who keep your dream alive – they engage in your content and believe in your product.
“Going above and beyond in the holiday season is a great idea to stand out from your competition,” says Answer 1. “Let your customers know you value them.”
You can do this by highlighting them on social media, asking for feedback, and giving a general shout out. People are much more willing to do business with companies that show value and appreciation for their audience.
Reaching out online is one of the easiest ways you can appreciate your audience. A simple tweet can go a long way in building trust and authenticity.
This appreciation will also help you get back to your roots. Look at your customers and think about why you started your business in the first place, and enjoy how far you’ve come!
This is also a good time to check in with your company culture. Are you attracting the audience you want? Is your team on board with your vision? Does your audience understand that vision? Find out by getting some feedback. This will make your customers feel valued.
Move Forward With Motivation
The holiday season doesn’t mean you have to hit a slump! Power through by planning ahead, connecting with your community, and showing appreciation for your customers. You’ll enjoy some holiday cheer while remaining productive!
