It’s not easy to crack the big league of artists whose names are synonymous with art, but a few young talents have worked their way up to the top and truly deserve to stand on the same pedestal as those great artists. There have been numerous new art forms introduced in the past which includes digital art which with the advent of technology has gained much prominence in present times.
Celebrities and pop culture also influence the art majorly which millennials enjoy. We have amidst us one such young contemporary digital artist and entrepreneur Sukesha Ray, whose creativity exudes through her contrasting artistic styles of modern pop culture which is impressive to the core.
What made her choose this art form and dwell deep into it? “initially taken as a hobby and eventually grown into a full-fledged profession, I went with the flow and my creative instincts have pushed me to these levels,” informs Sukesha. Right from creating visually appealing artwork for globally acclaimed DJ’s to designing fashion wear for known brands, she is always on the go and comes across as an avid globetrotter.
A graduate with a B.S in chemistry, she aims for a career in the medical realm as a plastic surgeon, simultaneously pursuing her career as an artist. She dreams of amalgamating science with art, which sounds quite interesting.
Many want to know how she discovered her love for art to which she answers, “I first began sketching in my reading books and with time the interest grew. Being a huge SEGA fan, pop art drew my attention and I ended up sketching popular characters like Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokemon.
At ten I got my first digital tablet as a gift and that was the start of my digital art journey.” Though she is more inclined towards digital art, traditional media is also something she enjoys and works at on several occasions. Her art is more inclined towards music and indulges in sketches of major EDM/Electro music artists as well as rap and pop artists.
“Takashi Murakami is one of my biggest inspirations in the art world as his works of pop art with Japanese anime and manga influence have majorly inspired me to a great extent,” says the young digital artist.
Her work has been widely appreciated, and her selection by ‘RageOn’ to transform her artwork into apparel and merchandise is enough proof of it. When asked about what are her future plans,
she says, “I want my art to be known on a global platform and work with top professionals in the world of art from all creative fields.” Sukesha’s out of the box ideas displayed through her art is surely going to take her places. Stay tuned for more on this upcoming artist in coming months.
