Karaoke is a popular party hit that attracts both novice and experienced singers. Karaoke is a guaranteed activity to keep your guests entertained from start to finish, whether it’s a home party, a party held in a separate party room, or even a picnic in the park (and sometimes even more). Below are some suggestions for making it more fun by adding different games and elements to it.
Costume Party
A costume party is loved and enjoyed by everyone, everyone loves to dress up according to the theme. A costume party is never a fail. A Karaoke party can be made as a costume party When guests arrive, insist that they dress up and play the part for your next party to add a nice dose of laughter. There are plenty of options to choose from when it comes to ideas.
Don’t forget the lyrics!
Write down snippets of lyrics from your favorite karaoke songs in the do-it-yourself version of this hit TV game show. Make sure that everyone can recognize the songs you’ve chosen. Depending on the level of difficulty you want, leave out one or more words.
In a small bowl, combine these papers and have each participant draw a piece of paper from it. It’s their turn to sing their heart out if they can guess the correct missing words! It’s time for a dare if the participant can’t come up with the missing words! It should be fun to dance the “Macarena” to Sinatra’s “My Way” or sing while standing on one foot!
Guess/Name the Singer
Name that singer!
Form small groups (with one referee) and write down the names of famous singers and a list of their most well-known works on individual pieces of paper. The referee announces the title of a song to the first team after drawing a paper from the bowl (starting with the least well-known and working on up to the biggest hit).
Each team takes a turn attempting to guess the artist’s name. Teams have one chance to guess the song correctly before the turn is passed to the next team and the referee provides a second song clue. The team that correctly guesses the artist gets to sing one of the songs.
What is the name of that song?
A karaoke performer sings a song without revealing the artist or title to the other participants. A point is awarded to the person (or team) who finds the song AND artist first. At the end of the game, give the person/team with the most points a small prize.
The ‘new’ Voice
Establish a judging panel to provide feedback and critique performances. Guests perform karaoke while the judges compete to add the singer to his team. After everyone has sung, have a sing-off between the judges and the team.
Karaoke parody
Enlist the help of your visitors’ imaginations. Divide them into two groups, each with a set amount of time to create a skit based on the song’s lyrics. Turn down the vocals and go for it. Prizes may be given to the most inventive group (think Weird Al Yankovic)
